20th March - International Day of Happiness
What is the International Day of Happiness? It’s a day to be happy (and to make all our students happy too), of course! Since 2013, the United Nations has celebrated the International Day of Happiness to recognise the importance of happiness in the lives of people around the world.

Classroom Project: The Happiness Jar
Beginners / Young Learners
Just bring a transparent glass jar and some colourful pieces of paper or post-it notes to class, and have your students write down two or three things they are grateful and happy for. Then have them fold up their scraps of paper and pop them into the jar. Explain that ‘The Happiness Jar’ is a visual representation of the fact that we always have a lot to be happy for!
* tip: You can make the jar a permanent addition to your classroom!
